Twin City officials announced at the April City Commission meeting that the city will be celebrating “Georgia Cities Week” April 23-29. The theme of this year’s Georgia Cities Week is “Lighting the Way.”

“We’re very proud of our city and the services we provide that make it attractive to residents and visitors,” said Mayor Matt Donaldson. “Cities provide the services and infrastructure to help businesses grow and set the stage for events where families and individuals can gather as a community.”

Twin City is planning to hold its annual City-Wide Clean-Up on Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The city will have dump locations open for household garbage only. Twin City Public Works will be working for the day to pick up any large, household items that needs disposing of. If citizens have any large items and cannot make it to a dump location, citizens should put them beside the road on that Saturday and city workers will pick them up. This is a one day only event. If there are questions, please call City Hall at 478-763-2695.

Cities across Georgia will be celebrating Georgia Cities Week, sponsored by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA), to showcase and celebrate cities and the many services they provide. Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and consulting services to its 538 member cities.
