On Thursday, October 5, the Community of Swainsboro, along with the Chamber of Commerce, gathered together on the front steps of Swainsboro’s beloved Edenfield House to celebrate the grand re-opening of the bed and breakfast under the new ownership of David and April Quinn. The Quinns cut the grand opening ribbon with their daughter Bella, who is the Manager of the Edenfield House.
In addition to the chamber members of the community that were in attendance, the Quinns were joined in this celebration by Representative Butch Parrish, Swainsboro High School Head Baseball Coach Billy Marchman, and very special guest, Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame Baseball Player Otis Nixon, who gave a special speech with Coach Marchman about the upcoming Extra Innings Camp “Where the Game Never Ends”. He announced that many downtown businesses, including the Edenfield House, have generously made donations to support the camp.
Guests were encouraged to enjoy an assortment of fall refreshments that were curated by event coordinator, Penny Porcel. Porcel provided a delicious grazing table that consisted of a charcuterie board, crudites, smoked salmon crostini, pecan tassies, cheesecake bites, a fall cider sangria and an assortment of drinks. The buffet and tables were festively decorated throughout in fall decor.
