Red Ribbon Week, the nation’s largest drug prevention campaign, took place at Swainsboro Middle School from October 27-31. With the theme, “Life Is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free,” the event encouraged students to make healthy choices and consider their future critically.
Through themed dress-up days, classroom lessons, and discussions, students adopted a drug-free lifestyle, increasing awareness and promoting positive choices throughout the school community. Some highlights included “RED-y to Be Drug Free,” “Dress Like a Teacher,” “Detect the Clues, Choose Drug Free,” “Pink Out Day” for Breast Cancer Awareness, and “Be the Character Who Solves the Puzzle.”
Partnering with the school, the Swainsboro Police Department reinforced the importance of prevention and community support. Staff shared, “This annual event is something we look forward to each year. Early education helps students understand the value of making positive, drug-free choices.”
Red Ribbon Week reminds students and families that awareness, education, and teamwork are essential in building healthier, brighter futures.
