Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

September 22

Officer responded to Cedar Street for a vehicle on a wire. Complainant stated that he was backing up and ran over the guide wire. Guide wire appeared to be okay.

Officer conducted a traffic stop due to a vehicle with no insurance along with a suspended tag. Officer advised driver to have someone come pick her up. A man pulls up and attempts to enter the scene, but the officer denies and asks him to leave. The car was towed and the driver had a family member pick her up.

Officer met with c/p at SPD in reference to stolen firearms. C/p states that they were stolen somewhere inside the city limits, unsure of where, and sometime within the past two weeks.

Officer was made aware offender had active state bench warrants for his arrest. Offender was placed under arrest and taken to Emanuel County Jail.

Offender had probation revoked while at city court. Offender was arrested and taken to Emanuel County Jail.

September 23

Officer was dispatched to McDonald’s where he spoke with supervisor. She stated that a man found a hair in his food, and while trying to reason with him, he began cussing at her. He was then asked to leave.

Officer was dispatched to Enmarket. Upon arrival, officer spoke with c/p who advised that offender had gone to self-checkout and attempted to pay for items. Transaction did not go through, but she proceeded to leave the store.

Officer was given information on an incident that took place between a man and four females. Rumor had been going around that the man was going to shoot up a party that one of the women was having.

Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a report. C/p advised that his set of keys went missing from a residence and he believes he knew who took them. He advised his house and car keys were in the set.

Officer was dispatched to East Pine Street in reference to a woman’s 2023 sticker for her tag being taken off.

Officer was dispatched to South Circle drive in reference to a collision. Vehicle 1 had hit vehicle two while it was occupied and in park. Driver 2’s license was suspended and he was taken to Emanuel County Jail.

Officer responded to Poplar Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, officer met with c/p who stated she had just been at the nail salon when her car was stolen. She stated that her brother had earlier come into the nail salon asking to put his suitcase in her car, and when she went to leave, the car was gone.

Officer was behind a vehicle that spun wheels across MLK Boulevard, and initiated his blue lights and siren. After a short chase, the offender finally pulled over and exited the vehicle. Offender was charged with a DUI, improper starting of a parked vehicle, and interference with a police officer.

September 24

Officer responded to a c/p wanting to make a report about being harassed. Upon arrival, the officer read the text messages where c/p was being harassed and advised c/p that a report would be made.

Officer was flagged down on Mcleod Bridge Road regarding a dispute that had taken place earlier this day. C/p stated that her neighbor’s son came over to play, but then the neighbor made the boy come home, spanked him, and told him not to go over there anymore.

Officer responded to Walmart in reference to a report. C/p advised that an unknown woman had stolen three items of clothing by sitting on them on an electric scooter.

Officer responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting. C/p stated that offender had taken multiple items and left in his vehicle.

Officer performed a traffic stop due to no tag lights. Offender stated that it wasn’t his vehicle, but it was still towed.

Officer observed a vehicle parked in the roadway with no lights, driver was found to be intoxicated and was given a DUI along with interference with a police officer and improper parking.

September 25

Officers responded to Walmart in reference to shoplifting. Offender was stopped at her car and taken into custody and was taken to the Emanuel County Jail.

Officers responded to Mcleod Bridge Road in reference to a verbal dispute. C/p was staying in a motel and was invited over by her grandmother to cook for her kids. The offender told her that she wasn’t gonna cook and threatened to beat her with his cane. He stated that he didn’t feel like cleaning up her mess that night.

Officer was dispatched to make a report on a c/p stating that an offender has slashed their tires. C/p stated that he knew who it was because he had been harassing him over texts before. C/p was advised that a report would be made.

Officer was dispatched to Domino’s in reference to a male subject running off the road. Offender stated that while traveling south, a car tried to merge in his lane causing him to run off the road.

September 26

Officer responded to Thigpen Drive in reference to a possible theft. C/p stated that a home was being built on the property with a shop along with several rolls of fencing on the property. A few rolls appeared to be missing, but were found.

Officer responded to Moring Street in reference to a report. C/p stated that a big truck pulled up blasting music and doing drugs after dark while people were trying to sleep.

Officer responded to the area of Norwood Avenue for someone taking c/p’s truck and driving it crazy down the road. Offender was given a citation for disorderly conduct.

Officer responded to Williams Street in reference to a male subject allegedly selling drugs. Suspect was detained.

Officer met with c/p at SPD in reference to a property dispute. C/p stated that she was attempting to pack up her belongings and move out of the residence when a verbal altercation occurred between her and the offender. Offender took c/p’s phone and refused to return.

Officers responded to N. Coleman Street in reference to a dispute between neighbors. Offender and c/p have been in an ongoing argument since September 17, 2022. A strong odor of alcohol was found on offender. Offender was then transported to Emanuel County Jail.

Officer was dispatched to Lewis Street in reference to stolen property. C/p stated that her put had been taken from her house sometime during the week. She stated that she has no idea who would’ve taken it and that nothing else in the house had been disturbed.

Officer responded to Gumlog Road in reference to a 53 y/o male that was unresponsive and not breathing. EMS arrived and took victim to the ER.

September 27

Officer was advised that there were two dogs in the roadway on Summit Avenue. Officer came in contact with owner and dogs were retrieved.

Officer responded to a call stating two dogs were trying to kill c/p’s cats. C/p stated that two big brown dogs came up and were chasing his cats trying to kill them.

Officers were dispatched to West Morning Street for an altercation between two brothers. Both parties were spoken to and were both cited for disorderly conduct.

September 28

Office was dispatched to Plaza Pharmacy in reference to a shoplifting. Officers could not find suspect but a report was made.

Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to harassing phone calls. C/p stated that offender had been calling her at work saying “how beautiful she is and how he wants to talk to her” after being blocked on her cell. He was advised to not call her at work.

Officer was dispatched to Hall’s Minit Mart #2 in reference to a report. C/p stated that suspect took two Delta 8 vape pens from the store.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no tag lights. An odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. Driver was issued two citations.

September 29

Officer conducted a traffic stop for no tag lights. Driver’s license was suspended for DUI and he was arrested. Officer responded to c/p wanting to make a report on someone slashing their tires again. C/p was advised that report would be made in 3-5 days and that it would be taken care of.

Officer was investigating a shoplifting that had occurred the day before, it was discovered that goods were stolen.

Officer was dispatched to North Racetrack Street in reference to some people trying to fight. Upon arrival, officer encountered a big group of people making threats. Parties were advised to separate.

Officer responded to Carver Street in reference to two sisters fighting. C/p stated that her sister showed up and tried to fight her. offender stated she didn’t do anything.

September 30

Officer conducted a traffic stop and found marijuana and driver was issued a DUI.
