Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

October 23

Officer was advised that Jenkins County Sheriff’s Office had picked up a female subject that the Swainsboro Police Department had warrants on. Officer went to Jenkins County and obtained custody of the woman, where she claimed to be experiencing dizziness and loss of vision due to a wreck. She was taken to Emanuel Medical Center, cleared, and turned over to Emanuel County jail staff.

October 24

Officer was sent to Stevens Drive for a welfare check on two juveniles. Upon arrival, they were informed by their grandfather that they were with their mother and grandmother and they were safe.

Officer was dispatched to North Main Steet to assist EMS. They were informed that the caller’s boyfriend was highly intoxicated and had fallen and could not get up. EMS was able to move the male from the bathroom floor to the bed. He was then left to sleep.

Officer was dispatched to William Rountree Street in reference to the caller stating there was an unwanted person at the residence. 911 dispatched that the person was no longer at the house and had left in a vehicle. Complainant stated that the subject was egging his house.

Officer took a walk-in report at SPD. C/p stated that she received information on her credit report that was not correct. There was a transaction to open an account with AT&T, and she had never had an account with AT&T.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with suspended registration. It was found the driver did not have a driver’s license and was arrested.

Officer responded to College Circle in reference to a complaint of males beating on a female’s dorm door. C/p stated that the males inside of the lobby were beating on her door but were denying it.

Officer responded to Friendly Way in reference to a report of possible animal cruelty. C/p stated that her neighbors had two dogs in their backyard that were kept on chains and appeared malnourished. Contact was attempted with the owner of the dogs but was unsuccessful.

911 dispatched officers to Walgreens in reference to a theft report. Employees were advised to notify the manager and get security footage.

911 advised officer that Clayton County had an offender with active warrants under arrest.

October 25

Officers were dispatched to the Roadway Inn in reference to a report of a male harassing a female. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male subject who stated that he was looking for his belongings in his hotel room when his female friend jumped on him from behind and began choking him, but he did not want to press any charges. The female stated that the male subject shoved her and choked her. It was also found that she had a warrant and was arrested. While en route to the jail, the offender was kicking and swinging her arms in the back of the vehicle and resisting.

Officer was dispatched to East Pine Street in reference to a stolen bicycle. C/p stated that he spoke with a juvenile regarding it and offered him money to help him locate it, the juvenile then reached into his pocket as if he had a gun and told him to go away. The juvenile denied having a gun and stated that he was only pulling his pants up.

Officer was dispatched to Emanuel Medical Center in reference to a dog bite. The mother of the bitten child stated that her children went to a residence on New Street to play in the yard but they had been advised not to because the owner’s dog was off his chain.

911 dispatched officers to Wendy’s in reference to a report. 911 then advised that c/p had left and returned home. When going to c/p’s home, he stated that he had been at church and went to his place of work, Wendy’s, after. He stated that the offender grabbed him by the arm and punched him in the stomach.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a taillight out. Marijuana was located in the vehicle and citations were issued.

Officers responded to Wendy’s in reference to a male having a seizure. EMS arrived and transported him to EMC.

October 26

Officer responded to East Main Street in reference to a report of criminal damage to property involving a vehicle windshield. C/p stated that he and his sister, the offender became involved in a verbal argument regarding his clothing being in the dryer when she needed to use it. as he was getting his clothes, she stated that she hoped his expecting baby would not make it. He responded with “That’s why yours died.” She became angry and struck his windshield with her fist, causing damage to it. Her water also broke during the incident.

Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to a harassment complaint involving an ex-boyfriend. C/p stated that her ex-boyfriend had been contacting her the night before by repeatedly calling and texting her. A deputy then showed her how to block his number. She later went into Enmarket and saw the offender and he told her she “better not be seen with another man”. All parties were separated and c/p was advised of the process of obtaining a TPO.

Officer was dispatched to Crump Street in reference to a resident being irate. C/p stated that a resident requested her medication and she was not listed on the medication sheet left by the previous on-shift nurse, and she began cursing at staff. It was later determined that the woman was supposed to receive her medication four hours after the incident.

Officers were stationed on Kite Road to assist with a helicopter landing when they heard a loud scream. They found the source of the scream, a young female who had just been discharged from Emanuel Medical Center. Nurses were attempting to assist her grandmother, father, and sister with getting her inside the vehicle, but had been kicked by the subject. Officers were able to get her into the vehicle to which she then became physically aggressive toward her family and was taken to Emanuel County Jail for a 6 hour hold.

Officer was dispatched to Family Dollar in reference to suspicious activity around the story alleged to be shoplifting. The man was not on scene at the time of police arrival, and nothing inside the store seemed to be missing.

Officer responded to Old Nunez Road in reference to meeting with the victim about a dispute on her bank statement.

Officer met with c/p at SPD in reference to a report. C/p stated that she was inside Wendy’s the day before getting lunch when she requested her debit card to be given back to her. It was found that her card was given to a male at the drive-thru window by mistake and he began charging different things to her card. Offender was located and stated that he did not realize it was not his card and agreed to pay the money back.

October 27

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with suspended registration and no valid insurance. Citations were issued and vehicle was towed.

Officer took a walk-in report at SPD. C/p stated that his tag was missing and he was unsure where it could be.

Officers responded to North Green Street in reference to an unresponsive elderly woman. Patient was transported to the Emergency Room.

Officer was dispatched to Jerome Street in reference to the caller stating that “whips” from school. Upon arrival, a female stated that a woman had walked away with her grandson and that her daughter had made the call. The woman was located and was found to have a warrant and was arrested.

Officer responded to East Pine Street in reference to a disturbance. There was verbal yelling coming from inside the residence on arrival and a woman answered the door. All parties were separated.

October 28

Officers responded to North Racetrack Street in reference to an unwanted individual who was no longer on scene. Offender received a criminal trespass warning in July and was advised not to return.

Officer responded to Emanuel County Jail to assist a detective with trespassing the offender from all housing authority property.

Officers responded to Main and Main in reference to a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stated that her light was green and the victim had on all black and she did not see her. The victim was transported by EMS to Emanuel Medical.

October 29

Officer took a report at SPD. C/p stated that an individual goes inside of his business wearing all black, scaring off customers, and smoking a vape when there is a “No Smoking/Vaping” posted. The individual was trespassed.

Officers responded to a single vehicle accident that occurred on private property. The driver and the manager stated that they did not want to have a report made.

Officer took a report at SPD. C/p stated that a male came to her residence after being served with a criminal trespass. She stated that since then, he has continued to try to talk to her. Offender was arrested for criminal trespass and stalking.

Officer responded to the Roadway Inn in reference to a belligerent male outside of the building with a pink BB gun. Offender was no on scene upon arrival.

Officer met with offender, his wife, and their child and he stated that the vehicle was out of gas. Offender was found to have a warrant and was arrest.

October 30

Officer responded to South Main Street for an unwanted person. Offender was gone upon arrival.
