November 13
Officer was dispatched to Advance Street in reference to a 911 hang up call. The resident stated that she called to try and make a report on a stolen gun. She also stated that she had her boyfriend over and he was the one that stole the firearm.
Officer was patrolling on West Meadowlake Parkway when he observed a vehicle parked in a dark corner of Harmon Park. When approaching the vehicle, officer noticed a cloud of smoke coming from the vehicle and a strong odor of marijuana. A search was conducted and marijuana was located. The occupants were instructed to pour it out on the ground and stomp it out. The vehicle and the individuals were released to a licensed driver.
Officers were dispatched to Walgreens in reference to a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the parking lot. C/p stated that she was inside the store and upon returning to her vehicle, observed it had been struck by another vehicle. Surveillance footage was reviewed.
November 14
Officers were outside SPD when shots were heard coming from the north side of town. Officers were unable to locate any shell casings.
Officer heard one single gunshot come from the north end of town. Negative contact was made with any shell casings.
C/p stated she parked her vehicle close to the event on Gumlog Road and moved it to West MLK Blvd after the incident. She stated that the offender damaged her car and there were multiple witnesses. The people at the gathering stated that they did not see who damaged the vehicle and were inside the building.
Officers were dispatched to Lewis Street for a female threatening a male with a knife. Officers made contact with c/p outside of the apartment who stated that the offender threatened him with a knife during an argument and that he had it on video. Offender was placed under arrest.
November 15
911 dispatched officers to Booker Street for a domestic in progress. C/p stated that the offender was in her home. Offender had an active parole warrant. Offender was arrested.
Offender was located and was placed under arrest for an active probation warrant.
Officers were dispatched to North Main Street in reference to an unwanted person. Offender was seen trying to leave the scene and get into a vehicle and appeared to be intoxicated. The subject admitted to smoking a narcotic substance and was arrested.
Officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a hit and run. C/p stated he left the store and noticed damage to his vehicle that had not been there before. He stated that he also had taken a picture before of how close a truck was parked beside him.
Officer was dispatched to Walmart for a shoplifting. Offender was cited and released with a court date.
November 16
Officer was dispatched to Rainbow Ridge in reference to an unwanted person. C/p stated that her boyfriend had come back over to her house and they got into a dispute. She stated that he had been living there for years, but she did not want him to come back.
Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. C/p stated that he allowed the offender to stay with him due to him not having anywhere else to go. He stated that while he was sleeping, the offender stole his vehicle and did not return it.
Officers approached Lewis Street in attempt to apprehend offender who had an active bench warrant when a male in a ski mask began fleeing with a bookbag. Later they located a vehicle with the occupant having a ski mask and a bookbag, but after taking his information he was cleared.
Offenders were arrested for active probation warrants.
Officer responded to West Moring Street in reference to a report of livestock at large. The c/p and property owner was scared that that livestock may harm her, animal control arrived on scene and was able to capture three goats. The owner was contacted, and the animals were released.
Officer responded to North Coleman Street in reference to a report of damage to a vehicle. C/p stated that a group of juveniles shot her vehicle with a BB gun. She identified a woman she suspected to be one of the juveniles’ mothers, but the woman denied her child shooting a BB gun.
Officer was dispatched to New Street in reference to an argument that had occurred. All parties were separated.
Officer was at SPD when a vehicle pulled into the parking lot. The driver of the vehicle asked for a report of a missing juvenile.
Officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting. The suspect was written a citation with a court date.
Officer was positioned at the Emanuel County Recreation Department in front of the country club when 6-10 shots were heard from the area of Deer Creek. No shell casings were located.
Offender was arrested for an active probation warrant.
Officers responded to a call in reference to a domestic in progress. 911 advised that the offender had already left the scene. Officer realized he had just passed a vehicle matching that description and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The offender attempted to flee but was apprehended and arrested.
November 17
911 dispatched officers to a domestic called in by a third party on Center Street. All parties were separated.
Officer responded to North Main Street in reference to an entering automobile. There were several items missing from the vehicle.
Officer responded to Lewis Street and Lucky Street due to shots in the area. Officers found shell casings in the area.
November 18
Officers received a call for service at Enmarket in reference to a customer passing counterfeit currency.
Officers responded to McLeod Bridge Road in reference to shots fired in the area.
Officer took a report at SPD in reference to a lost tag. Information on the tag was provided.
Officer was dispatched to SPD for a report. C/p stated that she is in the process of moving and while doing so her medicine in a box and it fell off of her trailer.
Officer responded to North Coleman Street in reference to a damaged fence. C/p stated that the property was an estate but was recently freed to her. She stated that there was damage to the fence and several items stolen.
Officer was positioned on Jefferson Street for a burglary. Someone unknown to them entered the alternative school property and cut a lock on the maintenance door. They then entered the building and cut 7 to 8 feet of copper from the school pipes.
Offender was placed under arrest for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Officer was dispatched to South Main Street due to the caller stated he was attacked by a male who had already fled the scene. Offender was not located.
November 19
Officer responded to Gumlog Road in reference to several males wearing all black clothing and carrying guns in a housing complex. No firearms were located on the subjects and they were released.
Officer was dispatched to Alice Circle in reference to the caller stating someone had hit his vehicle and caused damage.
Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to a disturbance. All parties were separated.
Officer was dispatched to North Main Street in reference to a welfare check. 911 advised that they received a phone call from the area of Northside Beverage from a female subject who sounded as if she was out of breath. Northside Beverage staff stated no one had called 911.
November 20
Officers responded to North Racetrack Street in reference to a 50-year-old woman being hit by a car. While speaking to offender, he stated he was taking the victim home when she yelled “Stop, stop, stop, I’m about to jump.” and jumped out of the vehicle. He stated he picked her up off the road and she did not want to go to the hospital. After taking her home, the woman went limp with no pulse. Friends of the victim stated that she would never jump out of a moving vehicle.
Officers were dispatched to Happiness Drive in reference to a welfare check. 911 advised that is sounded like a female subject over the phone slurring her words. The daughter of the caller stated that they were trying to call the woman’s nurse due to her recently having surgery, but it directed them to 911.
Officers were dispatched to Gumlog Park in reference to an 18 y/o male having a seizure. The subject was transported to Emanuel Medical Center by EMS.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 47 MPH in a 35 MPH school zone. The vehicle also had expired registration. Offender was arrested.
Complainant stated his vehicle was struck by a FedEx truck and he needed a report.
Officer was dispatched to North Main Street in reference to a report of damage to a vehicle. C/p stated that on November 11, another vehicle struck her vehicle and information was exchanged.
