October 8

Officers noticed four male subjects in the parking lot of ABC and due to break-ins and vandalism, they attempted to make contact with them. One was spotted running and officer asked him to stop and talk with them. Officer asked offender why he was running so early in the morning, and he stated he didn’t have a ride and was coming from the Huddle House headed to a friend’s house. Officer could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person and advised offender that him and three other individuals were seen walking and asked where the other three were, but offender stated he wasn’t with anyone. Officer then asked offender if he had consumed any alcohol recently and he stated one or two beers but finally admitted to drinking five or six. Officer observed offender having trouble keeping his balance as he spoke with him. Officer informed offender he was under arrest for public intoxication and transported him to EmCo Jail.

Officers were dispatched to Powell St. in reference to complainant stating he just purchased a residence on Friday and the property had a shed building in the back yard and it was there on the property when he left on Friday and when he returned, the shed was missing. Drag marks were observed that led to a residence on W. Church St. Officers went to the residence in an attempt to make contact with the owner and spotted the shed building in the yard but could not make contact with anyone at the residence but were able to obtain a cell phone number for the offender. Offender advised he was not home but would meet with them shortly. Offender arrived and stated the previous owner of the Powell St. residence sold the shed building to him and the officer asked if he had a bill of sale and he stated he did not but was able to provide text messages with the previous owner where an agreement was made for the sale of the shed. Officers then met with c/p and asked if he could provide a document stating the shed was included in the sale of the property, but c/p could not provide one and stated the previous owner nor the realtor informed him that the shed did not come with the property, and he was led to believe it belonged to him.

Officer spoke with complainant who stated someone must have gone to his house and stole several items. C/p also stated someone keeps knocking over his rat poison, so rats are eating all his stuff, and someone removed a tree limb and placed it on his fence to let his dogs out.

October 9

Officer met with complainant on Lucky St. in reference to a stolen vehicle. That was wrecked into a residence. C/p and the owner of the vehicle advised the vehicle was parked on the side of the road on Lewis St. near Lucky St. for appx. 30 mins. and when c/p went outside, she found the vehicle missing and was around the corner on Lucky St. The vehicle was wrecked into a dilapidated old, abandoned residence. C/p advised she got in the vehicle and backed it up and parked it at a nearby residence. Officers observed damage to the vehicle but was unable to notice any damage to the residence due to the entire structure falling down. C/p advised the vehicle was on top of a pile of bricks that she backed over to remove the vehicle from the location. C/p also advised her father was on his way to remove the vehicle with a trailer.

Officer observed a vehicle with a headlight out, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer asked the driver for his license, and he stated they are suspended. Officer then asked for the driver’s name and DOB and ran him through GCIC to find his license are suspended and asked the passenger if she had a valid license and she stated she did. Officer verified her information then asked the driver to step out of the vehicle. Driver was transported to EmCo Jail and the vehicle was turned over to the passenger.

Officer ran the registration on a vehicle to find that the owner had a suspended license, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer asked the driver for her license, and she stated she did not have them and provided a DDS 1205 that she was issued to drive off of from August. Officer then advised offender that her license is suspended due to implied consent and asked her to exit the vehicle. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

October 10

Officer was dispatched to Summit Ave. in reference to a property damage report. Complainant stated she was inside and heard and felt something hit the side of her house and went outside to find a large tire smoking at the corner of her home. Officer observed the tire lying beside the corner of the house and noticed a broken rocking chair, a wooden cross shattered and the vinyl siding damaged. Officer flipped the tire and suspected it had broken off a large trailer or semi and noticed it was still hot. C/p informed officer that her neighbor witnessed the tire flying past their house on Rainbow Ridge.

Officer met with complainant at SPD in reference to a report where she stated while she was at WalMart, she requested $80 cash back from the self-checkout and forgot to get her money and doesn’t know who removed it from the register.

Officer was dispatched to Lucky St. in reference to unwanted juveniles on the property that has caused damage to vehicles on the property. Officer met with complainant who stated unknown offenders caused a large dent into the hood of her vehicle and pushed the driver side window down on another vehicle. C/p advised she suspects the juveniles live next door to her. Officer inspected the damages to the vehicles and observed what c/p stated. Officer made contact with the neighbor and advised her of the situation, and she denied her grandchildren being on c/p’s property, and officer advised her to make sure her grandchildren understand that they are not allowed on c/p’s property. Officer then went back and spoke with c/p who advised the house across the road has cameras and try to obtain any video footage of the incident.

Officer observed a vehicle with not working tag lights, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Upon running the registration, it was found that the vehicle did not have valid insurance and suspended registration. Contact was made with the driver who stated he was aware of the findings but was trying to go pick up his other car. Officer then asked for the driver’s license and found that it is suspended for failure to appear. Officer asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and placed him under arrest and transported him to EmCo Jail.

Officer responded to N. Main St. for someone pulling a gun. Officer made contact with complainant who stated a male subject came up to him and pulled out a gun and stated if he did not give the gun back, he was going to shoot him. C/p stated the gun belongs to a female and she was the one who sent offender to get it but stated he does not have it because he is a convicted felon. Officer went to Lee St. to talk with the female who stated c/p stole it from her a while back. The female subject stated c/p told her a male subject’s sister had the gun and would take it to her, and advised she did not send anyone to get the gun from c/p but asked offender to go ask c/p where it was at. Officer asked offender if he had a gun when he went up to c/p and he stated. He did but it was in his pocket and did not pull it out or tell c/p he was going to kill or shoot him. He stated he asked c/p where the gun was at and told him he needed to give it back to the female. Officer was able to see video of what happened and could see offender go up to c/p and talk but never pulled a gun out of his pocket.

October 11

Officer responded to Marion St. in reference to a domestic dispute between mother and daughter. 911 advised the mother was intoxicated and had a knife. Officer observed offender on the front porch and complainant and witness walked out of the house onto the front porch. Officer asked what was going on and c/p and offender both started trying to speak at the same time and officer told offender to have a seat and asked her where the knife was, and she said she did not have a knife, and wanted her daughter out of her house. Officer advised offender of the eviction process and asked her to tell him what was going on. Offender stated her daughter had been putting her hands on her and pushing her all night. Officer then spoke with c/p who stated she pushed her mother back when she got in her face yelling at her. Officer then asked c/p about the knife and she could not show him or tell him where it was at. Officer then spoke with the witness who stated he got home and offender was drunk and was keeping everyone up by stomping through the house and fussing at everyone. C/p stated offender even broke his glasses while they were arguing.
