Six sentenced in Superior Court

The following occurred during the Emanuel County Superior Court January 2024 term:

Jacob Corbitt, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty plea on one count sale of meth (reduced) possession with intent. He was fined $50 with 15 years probation, 170-180 PDC suspended; nol pros on one count possession of schedule II; nol pros on one count weaving. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 15 years to be served on probation. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Horace Weathersby negotiated a guilty plea on one count armed robbery (reduced) robbery. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 20 years, with the first 8 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 8 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Keshon Woods negotiated a guilty plea on one count possession of firearm by a convicted felon. He was fined $50 with 10 years, serve 2 years balance probated; one count fleeing with 12 months to serve; one count driving with suspended license with 12 months to serve; possession of marijuana with 12 months to serve; obstruction of officer with 12 months to serve. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 10 years with the first 2 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 1/27/24. Upon service of 2 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Laura Walls negotiated a guilty plea on one count possession of meth. She was fined $250 with 3 years probation; one count possession of drug related objects with 12 months probation; one count forgery in the 4th degree with 12 months probation. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 3 years to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 2/25/24 – 3/6/24. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Valerie Kamille Oglesby negotiated a guilty plea on one count theft by shoplifting. She was fined $50 with 10 years, 1 year to serve, bal. prob. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 10 years with the first 1 year to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. Upon service of 1 year, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Anthony Antonio Washington negotiated a guilty plea on one count unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution. He was fined $50 with 10 years serve 3 years, bal. prob. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 10 years with the first 3 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 3 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.
