A Swainsboro High School teacher, Angel J. Oliver, was arrested Wednesday, October 29, by the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Department. She is charged with Improper Sexual Conduct with three students, ages 16 and 17.
A first appearance hearing was held Friday, October 31, in Magistrate Court. Bond was denied and the case was bound over to Emanuel County Superior Court. Oliver remains in the Emanuel County Jail.
Emanuel County Schools Superintendent Dr. Denise Warnock stated the following – “Upon receiving allegations involving an employee and students, the district promptly notified law enforcement and placed the employee on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The district has been informed that an arrest has been made. At a called board meeting Friday afternoon, the BOE approved the individual’s resignation, and they are no longer employed by Emanuel County Schools.”
