Swainsboro-Emanuel County Recreation Department’s 12U Girls Allstar Softball Team qualified to compete in the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) Class A/B Girls Fastpitch Softball State Tournament following a second place finish in the District Tournament June 10. Hosted by Madison County Recreation Department, the GRPA State Tournament will be played in Danielsville June 22 through June 26.
Members of the 12U Girls Allstar Team are Berklie Bishop, Chloe Boulineau, Brook Fleming, Senaria Hillman, Kyleigh Hostilo, Charley Mitchell, Payton Peebles, Aubrey Scott, Sara Smith and Ariel Tanner. Coaches are Trent Boulineau and Lori Smith.
The 12U Girls defeated Dublin-Laurens 19-1 in their first game of the District One Tournament held June 8-10 in Lyons. They lost a close game to Vidalia June 9 but came back with a 23-9 win over Lyons later that day. They finished runners-up in the district tournament after losing to Vidalia 10-3 in the final game.
