Flower Show schedule review

Posted

The Seedling Garden Club Flower Show chairman, Kay Peacock and Flower Show Schedule chairman, Martha Cobb met to go over the schedule for the upcoming flower show. The title of the flower show is, "Our World As a Canvas." The event will be held Saturday, April 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 28, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Sudie Fulford Center located on the grounds of East Georgia State College. It is open and free to the public and the Seed-ling Garden Club hopes to have a lot of visitors on these days.

A lot of effort and hard work has been put into making this a beautiful, educational show. Featured will be a Horticulture Division that is open to anyone wishing to enter horticulture, a Design Division which is open to Garden Club members only and a Youth Division which will open your eyes to, "Young Eyes on Our Canvas." Out of town certified flower show judg-es will be judging the show.

You may ask, "What is a Flower Show?" A flower show is not only a beautiful collection of specimens and designs, but a prime opportunity to capture the wonder and minds of the viewing public and club members. Flower shows stimulate interest in growing and showing horticulture, creating floral designs and expressing creativity. It can be an invaluable way to educate and share knowledge of National Garden Clubs from local clubs to national goals and objectives. A flower show brings community members together to learn, grow and dis-play.

You sure don't want to miss this beautiful "Canvas" on display. The flower show is a NGC Standard Flower Show and a Pine Tree Festival event sponsored by the Seedling Garden Club of Swainsboro in cooperation with the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club.

See you at the show as you view and see "Our World as a Canvas." Close your eyes and vi-sion the beauty of this world in flowers.
