The East Georgia State College Softball Team defeated Georgia Highlands on Saturday, March 20 by scores of 3 to 2 and 5 to 1.
In game one the Bobcats led 2 to 0 until the seventh inning when Georgia Highlands came charging back to tie the game at 2 to 2 in the top of the seventh. The Bobcats, however, walked off with the victory in the bottom of the seventh inning with a pass ball, errant throw from the Georgia Highlands pitcher that would score Sierra Taylor from third base to give the Bobcats the walk-off victory at 3 to 2.
In game two Bobcat pitcher Madison Bussell completely shut-down the Highlands batters allowing four hits in seven innings of work. At the plate Allana Hooks, Alaina Lee, Taylor Morgan, Sierra Taylor, Madison Denning, Dani Wells, and Stephanie Ruffin all provided key hits for the Lady Bobcats in route to a 5 to 1 game two win. With the victories, the Lady Bobcats are in first place in the conference with an undefeated conference record of 4 and 0.
On the Baseball Diamond, the Bobcats traveled to Tifton to take on ABAC in a double header. The Bobcats fired up the bats early in game one and never looked back! They defeated ABAC 10 to 0 in game one and 6 to 4 in game two. With the victories, the EGSC Baseball Team has moved into second place in the conference with a 3 and 1 conference record.
The Bobcats have won 18 of their last 22 games on the baseball diamond and look to move into first place this week when they play Gordon State.
