ECI honors local heroes

On Friday, November 7, Emanuel County Institute honored local veterans with a heartfelt Veterans Day ceremony. Students, staff, families, and community members gathered to recognize the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The program opened with the presentation of colors by the ECI Bulldog Battalion, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem, performed by the ECI band. Students and staff welcomed guests and expressed gratitude for the veterans in attendance, emphasizing the importance of teaching students about sacrifice, service, and patriotism.

Students participated in various ways—through readings, musical performances, and personal tributes—all reflecting the ECI community's deep appreciation for veterans' service. The ceremony also included a moment of silence to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

This ceremony is a small but significant way for us to show our appreciation to those who have served and continue to serve, reinforcing our community’s commitment to honoring their dedication and sacrifice.

The annual event has become a meaningful tradition at ECI, serving as a powerful reminder to the school and community of the ongoing importance of service, honor, and gratitude, and fostering a culture of respect for those who protect our freedoms.
