Don't Be Afraid of the Storm

Posted

As you know, we just experienced the worst stomach in some of our lives. We all have been traumatized by the experience. Storms have always been prevalent since the flood of Noah. But I am here to remind you not to be afraid of the storm nor the devastation that you see.

One of the things the storm has done is to remind us of the power of God. His strength is above all others. See this storm did not discriminate. It didn't choose sides of the tracks. It didn't choose certain neighborhoods. It didn't care about your legal status. Even money cannot handle this storm.

There is a situation I am reminded of In Matthew chapter fourteen. In it Jesus came to his disciples walking on the water. Peter asked Jesus to let him come to him walking on the water. Jesus granted his request. Peter got out of the boat and walked toward Jesus. Immediately a storm came. The wind got boisterous.., as it did in the storm of Helene. Peter took his eyes off Jesus, looked at the storm, became afraid and began to sink. He then called on Jesus to save him which Jesus did.

Now let me remind you today to keep your eyes on Jesus. Even in the storm of the aftermath. Jesus will provide for you. Jesus will see you through. Trust him and don't doubt because of the storm. Don't be afraid. Fear brings torment. Jesus brings peace. He is our peace. Don't be afraid. Trust God. He is peace in the midst of the storm.
