David Emanuel Academy’s varsity girls’ basketball team began the night strong against Statesboro’s Trinity Christian School on January 9, immediately following the junior varsity boys’ game. However, TCS defeated them in a nail biter 32-46. Molly Hammock started things off strong, securing the first 3 points for the Eagles. Maddie Perkins then contributed another 3 points to the board. Kyli Bell followed up with a 4-point play. Aubrey Williams then pulled out ahead with a momentum play that secured 9 points for the Eagles. Chirsten McCoy produced 3 more points for DEA and Emma Proctor finished the game off with a monumental play, putting the last 10 points on the board for the Eagles before time was called.
