DEA Middle School Eagles easily dispatched Thomas Jefferson Middle School Jags on Wednesday, August 19, at David Emanuel Academy, 13-1.
Middle School Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Callie Mae walked, Blakely grounded out, Weslee walked, and Brailey walked, each scoring one run.
Evie hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs in the bottom of the second for the Middle School Eagles.
Middle School Eagles scored six runs on one hit in the bottom of the fourth inning. Blakely grounded out, scoring one run, Brailey drew a walk, scoring one run, Logan drew a walk, scoring one run, Mary Bess singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
Mary Bess earned the win for Middle School Eagles. The starter allowed one hit and one run over four innings, striking out five and walking four. #8 took the loss for Middle School Jags. The starting pitcher went three and one-third innings, allowing 11 runs (nine earned) on five hits, striking out five and walking nine.
Evie provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Middle School Eagles with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day.
