DEA Eagles put up a fight, but lose to Vidalia Heritage

On Friday, September 13, David Emanuel Academy faced Vidalia Heritage Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The David Emanuel Academy Eagles lost 34-12 to the Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles.

David Emanuel Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Clayton Hood, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. John-Nathan Martin got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown. The DEA Eagles were also able to hold the VHA Eagles scoreless in the 3rd quarter.

David Emanuel Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Vidalia Heritage Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Players of the week foe Week 4 are as follows: The Ware's Bar-B-Q Most Valuable Player went to Senior RB/LB #7 Clayton Hood with 10 Carries, 87 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing Touchdown, 11 Tackles, 1 TFL, 1 QB Pressure; Offensive Player of the Game was Junior QB #4 Richard Braddy with 94 Passing Yards, 6 Carries for 46 Rushing Yards; Defensive Player of the Game was Junior DB #24 Revan Fortner with 7 Tackles, 2 Pass Break Ups; Special Teams Player of the Game went to Junior RB/DB #17 John-Nathan Martin with 4 Kick Off Returns for 125 Yards, 1 KOR for an 85 yard Touchdown; Practice Player of the Week was Sophomore TE/DL #19 Mason Williams.

DEA will take on Sherwood Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20.
