DEA Eagles defeat Albany Sherwood Eagles at Friday homecoming game

David Emanuel Academy Varsity Eagles hosted Albany Sherwood Academy Eagles for homecoming on Friday, September 9. Game play began at the 7:30 p.m. kickoff time and resulted in a major Eagle victory of 40-6.

Jesse Moore was first to add points for the home team after completing a 22-yard Eagle touchdown play. Racyn Faircloth ran the ball 94-yards for another Eagle touchdown. Both 2-point conversions for the two plays were deemed unsuccessful as the Eagles led 12-0.

Adding additional Eagle points to the scoreboard, Billy Martin completed a 8-yard run that was followed with a successful 2-point conversion ran by Riley Griner. The score was then 20-0.

Faircloth scored the Stillmore Eagle team’s next two touchdowns with a 6-yard run followed by a 12-yard run. Going 32-0, Moore successfully completed a two point conversion play after Faircloth’s 12-yard touchdown, increasing the score 34-0. Moore scored the next Eagle touchdown, running the ball 7 yards for a 40-0 score.

Honorable plays made during DEA’s homecoming game included interceptions by Tony Sutton and Faircloth and fumble recoveries by Ebb McCullough.

The DEA Varsity Eagles will lace up their cleats for more Friday night action this Friday, September 17, at Twiggs Academy. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
