The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro recently held its weekly meeting (and the first one of the 2022 year) at 7 p.m. at The Rustic Grille. With President Dianna Wedincamp presiding, there were 15 members in attendance. The Carrot Cake and Chocolate on Chocolate Cake, donated by Tim Goodman, were won by Pepper Fields and Goodman. The Domino’s pizza, donated by Domino's Pizza, was also won by Goodman. The birdhouse, presented by President Wedincamp, was won by Bobbie Daughtry.

The program for the evening was hosted by Carlos Cunha. He tuned up his temperamental guitar and played three songs for club members. He sang Paul Simon's "The Boxer" to begin. He played a song written by his music teacher to celebrate Epiphany. Cunha also sang Neil Young's "A Man Needs a Maid" and the original Bob Dylan version of "Knocking on Heaven's Door" – not the Guns n' Roses version. Cunha then announced that he will be leaving East Georgia State College and moving to Portugal sometime in May.
