Mrs. Connie Johnson Turner, 62, of Twin City, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at her residence. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 12, at 1 p.m. at Canoochee Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Sweat officiating. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were James Clay, Evan Clay, Nathan Turner, Clay Johnson, Chase Johnson, Blake Marsh, Brannon Bush, Nicholas Johnson, Zach Proctor and Dylan Rollins.

Connie was born February 19, 1962, in Emanuel County, to Kenneth and Maudine Johnson. She lived all her life in Emanuel County and was married to her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Turner, for 41 years before his death in 2023. Connie graduated from Emanuel County Institute in 1980. She worked as a paraprofessional with the Emanuel County School system and retired after 25 years. Connie proudly held the nickname, “paraboss”, to her colleagues and students. She was a volunteer firefighter for the Canoochee Fire Department before retiring after 20 years of service. Connie and Ronnie operated their farm together and she spent summers canning pickles and jelly. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, an active member of her church, Canoochee Baptist Church, and a loving “Goggie” to her six grandchildren. Peanut, her loving pet chihuahua, could be found by her side at any time. Connie loved spending time with her family more than anything. She looked forward to vacations at the beach and frequent shopping trips with her mother, sister and nieces. Mrs. Turner is preceded in death by her father; and husband, Ronnie Turner.

Mr. Turner is survived by her mother, Maudine Johnson of Garfield; sons, Clint (Natalie) Turner and Chad (Marlee) Turner, both of Metter; grandchildren, Waylan Turner, Ollie Turner, Miller Turner, Jax Turner, Charlee Turner and Chadlee Turner, all of Metter; brother, Steve (Becky) Johnson of Canoochee; sister, Kathy (Richard) Johnson of Garfield; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
