Be sure to remember that next Tuesday, March 12, is election day throughout Georgia. The Democcratic Presidential Preference Primary and the Republican Presidential Preference Primary races will be held to help decide who will be on the ballot for President in the general election on November 5, 2024. In District 1 of Emanuel County, there will also be a non-partisan election for County Commissioner to fill the unexpired term of Dessie E. Davis. Candidates for that position are Kawame Coleman, Allen Farley, Kenny Griffin, Chris Jukes and Quin McKinney. Voting places will be the usual locations throughout the county including the 4H Clubhouse in Swainsboro, even though it is presently undergoing renovations. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
