Mr. Wyman Lee Smith, age 55, of Kite, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 18, at 2 p.m. from the graveside in Kite City Cemetery. His family received friends Saturday at the cemetery.

Born in Green Cove Springs, Florida, Wyman was the youngest of five children born to the late Edward Lee Smith and Reba Ireatha Moore Smith. He grew up in Orange Park, FL and Kite, graduating from Johnson County High School, Class of 1984. After high school, Wyman served for four years in the United States Navy. Upon being honorably discharged, he returned to Johnson County where he continued to make his home, except for a few years in Soperton helping his mother during her declining years. Wyman was a “Jack of all Trades” and ”Handyman” that could fix almost anything. He was a familiar face to many at R&R Goat and Livestock Auction in Swainsboro. Wyman collected antique cast iron cookware and enjoyed cooking (in his cast iron pots) and fishing. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith is preceded in death by two sisters, Rebecca Lynn Lawson and Betty Olive Hodges.

Mr. Smith leaves behind his two brothers, James Edward Smith (Sherri) of East Dublin and Dallas Franklin Smith of Soperton; his best friend, Wayne Beasley (Rhonda) of Wrightsville; his fiancé, Wanda Jarriel, Kite; and several nieces and nephews.

Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton was in charge of arrangements.
