The dream of having first run movies and live performances in a downtown theater in Swainsboro is once again back on track. The firm of BAK Builders has been in town for the past two weeks beginning the next phase of renovation and restoration of the Karrh Theater. When the project is completed, the theater will once again host the latest movie releases in an elegant and updated state-of-the-art setting that will also serve as a venue for a variety of live productions. The project has been supported with contributions large and small by more than five hundred private citizens, as well as assistance from the Downtown Development Authority, the Fox Theater, and the Department of Community Affairs.
