Several organizations in Emanuel County, including the Wiregrass Chapter SAR, Governor David Emanuel/Adam Brinson Chapter of the DAR, The American Legion, VFW, Swainsboro Police Dept., Swainsboro Fire Dept., Emanuel County Sherriff's Dept, Swainsboro Recreation Dept. and Mayor Charlie Schwabe met at the Pine Brook Nature Park at the corner of Highway 57 North and Highway 80 West at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, to place 20 Wreaths at the war and first responder monuments. They also placed 13 flags representing the 13 service members killed this past August in Afghanistan. The organizations appreciate the efforts of John Tapley for organizing this event.
