Quintus Williams is one of six recipients of Emanuel County’s 1st Ever MLK Black Youth Excellence Victory Awards. He is a senior at Swainsboro High School. Ms. K. Denise Williams is his mother. Williams is currently on track to graduate with honors from SHS in 2024. He has received multiple college acceptances and scholarship offers from various institutions. Williams also is a member of the class of 2023 at Southeastern Technical College, where he earned honors as a 16-year-old and obtained his nurse aide certification. He graduated with a 4.0 GPA, placing him among the top students in his class. William’s success has not been without challenges, and despite some extraordinary trials, his list of achievements is lengthy. Some of his proudest achievements are being named the 2023-24 first ever Emanuel County African-American trailblazer, being named the first-ever Ga Youth Leader, placing among the top 21 candidates out of 4,000; being published as an author by the America Library of Poetry; winner of the 2023 Region 4 Graphic Design Champion title; finishing second in the 2023 Ga FBLA Client Service State; being an All-Star member of Region 4; was the 2022–2023 FBLA Chapter Member of the Year; was an Ambassador for the EGSC LEAD Society; won the Robins Financial Credit Union Good Grades Program; and won the 2023 Ga FBLA FLC Client Service State Grand Champion title, as well as the Sr Beta Statesmen Essay champion title. Williams is active in many other organizations including Sr. Beta, FBLA, FFA, 4-H, Student Council, Black History Student Council, National Society of High School Scholars, Citizens Bank Advisory Board, Franklin Memorial Teen Advisory Board, 21st Century Leaders, where he served as president from 2020 to 2023. William’s future plans include earning an undergraduate degree in public health studies and ultimately to pursue a doctorate in public administration/health. The rising senior offers his favorite inspirational encouragement to anyone with a dream, “the only person who can prevent you from improving yourself, is you. Never give up !.”
