Williams updates Kiwanis

The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting Tuesday night, February 17, at the Emanuel County Library at 6:30 p.m. With President Dianna Wedincamp presiding, they had six in attendance. Cheryl Goodman won the bag of Russell Stover candy and Tim Goodman won the Domino’s pizza. Kayla Williams gave an update on Library activities for the month of February and March, to include an Emanuel County Library Board meeting and a special Black History program on February 28. In addition, events scheduled for March include a Revolutionary History Day on March 7, a Highland cow program on March 19, a Kid’s History Club meeting on March 20, a Genealogy Club meeting on March 30, and a ceramic painting class on March 31. Tim Goodman updated gave an update on the Knotty Pine 5K to be held May 2 from 6 to 10 a.m. across the road from First Baptist Church, 240 W. Main Street. Registration for the run begins at 7 a.m. and the run begins at 8 a.m. Everyone who helps will get a run t-shirt. An event flyer has been developed and is available on the Swainsboro Kiwanis website and at www.pinetreefestival.org. Registration can be mailed in with a check; registration and payment can be made through Cash App and Venmo; or runners may register on the day of the event. Contact Tim Goodman if you wish to help.
