During the 2023 Georgia Association of Extension 4-H Agents annual meeting held in Vidalia, Emanuel County 4-H volunteer T’Neil Williams was recognized as the Outstanding Individual Volunteer Leader for the Southeast Extension District that covers 39 counties. She was nominated by 4-H Agent and County Extension Coordinator, Jakyn Tyson.

Since 2017, T'Neil has volunteered over 900 hours for 4-H. She’s been certified in Archery, Shotgun, Cotton Boll & Consumer Judging, and Foods and Nutrition. In Fall 2020, she started a Cooking Club that taught 4th-6th graders the basics of cooking and nutrition and made the kids love it even though the UGA/COVID regulations were that they had to wear masks and couldn’t eat anything they made. What kind of person is so fun that she can convince kids to come to a cooking club where they can’t even taste anything?

T'Neil wasn’t involved in 4-H as a youth, but since becoming a volunteer, she’s won the Tribal Shield at Rock Eagle for 4-H Camp and has even been to State Congress. She is an advocate for the 4-H program, a mentor to the youth, and a cheerleader for the 4-H staff.

T’Neil and her family are a tremendous asset to the Emanuel County 4-H program, and we are proud that she was recognized for this honor.
