Wilkey speaks to Veterans at the Library

Posted

The Veterans at the Library held their weekly meeting at the Franklin Memorial Library Monday morning, July 6, at 9 a.m. With Chair Johnny Tapley presiding, 36 members and guests were in attendance. Librarian Shari Watt provided breakfast consisting of biscuits with sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, jelly, blueberry muffins, and all the trimmings, orange juice, grape juice, cranberry juice, apple juice, and coffee. The Veterans found out that the library did not have a stove at their location, so they purchased a new stove from Davy Reynolds’ furniture store, Southern Accents. This stove will be used by the library for cooking for all the reading groups, veterans’ group and any other event where the library needs to cook. The program was presented by Kevin Wilkey, owner and operator of Wilkey's Beaver Trapping and Wildlife Management. Kevin talked to the veterans about the Humane removal of nuisance wildlife including beaver, otter, coyote, bobcat, raccoon, fox, opossum, armadillo, squirrel, turtle, and feral hog/dog/cat. Kevin is a professional trapper, state certified control operator and insured. You can contact him at 478.550.5308.
