At the regular meeting of the Swainsboro Exchange Club held on March 3, club member Larry Calhoun introduced guest speaker Blythe Wilcox, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and the Southeastern Technical College Foundation.
Wilcox presented an overview of the work and accomplishments of the STC Foundation over the past year. She highlighted the foundation’s ongoing efforts to support students, faculty, and staff while strengthening communities throughout the region.
During her presentation, Wilcox also shared current enrollment figures at Southeastern Technical College and provided a breakdown of the various programs students are choosing to pursue. She emphasized the important role the college plays in preparing a skilled workforce for the local area.
Wilcox explained that donor support allows the foundation to make significant investments in student success. Over the past year, the foundation provided $74,500 in scholarships for students and contributed $30,000 to the Dual Enrollment Program Fund. Additional funding has supported the Student and Instructor of the Year program, GED testing and instructors, educational equipment, various programs of study, and upgrades to the college auditorium.
Members of the Exchange Club expressed their appreciation for the work of the foundation and the impact it has on supporting students and strengthening educational opportunities across the region.
At the conclusion of the program, the Swainsboro Exchange Club presented Wilcox with a $500 donation to support the ongoing work of the STC Foundation.
