Franklin Memorial Library announces the following upcoming events:
DAILY EVENTS
August 3
• Staff Meeting - Due to today’s staff meeting, the library will open to the public at 10 a.m. instead of their normal 9 a.m. opening time.
August 4
• National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day - Be sure to stop by the library for Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day on Thursday, August 4, and request a cookie!
August 9
• National Book Lovers Day - Calling all book lovers! Be sure to swing by the library for National Book Lovers Day on Thursday, August 9, and receive a keychain!
August 15
• This or That Movie Voting Ends - The library welcomes youth opinions on its next movie showing. Should the library show Atlantis – The Lost Empire or The Emperor’s New Groove? Cast your vote with the library today! Voting ends August 15. Showtime is set for 4 p.m., August 18.
August 18
• Movie Showing - Join the library for popcorn and a show at 4 p.m., August 18!
August 23
• Back to School Kid’s Craft - Franklin Memorial Library will host a Back to School Kid’s Craft at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23. Sign-up in required.
• Board of Trustees Executive Committee Meeting - The Emanuel County Library Board will meet in the library’s Smith Room at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23.
WEEKLY EVENTS
• Toddler Time – The library will host Toddler Time at Harmon Park each Friday throughout the month of August. Sessions will be held at 10:30 a.m. on August 5, August 12, August 19, and August 26.
• Veteran’s Coffee – On a weekly basis, Franklin Memorial Library welcomes local heroes for Veteran’s Coffee at 9:30 a.m. each Monday. Veterans Coffee dates for the remaining month of August are set for August 8, August 15, August 22 and August 29.
BI-WEEKLY EVENTS
• Art-Anime Club – The library will host an art-anime club at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, and again on Wednesday, August 24.
MONTH-LONG EVENTS
• Donation Drive - In honor of August 20 being International Homeless Animals Day, the library will be accepting donations of pet food, toys, treats, blankets and beds throughout the month of August.
