Warnock appointed to State Workforce Development Board

Governor Brian Kemp officially announced February 22, 2024, the appointment of Ken Warnock to the State Workforce Development Board for the State of Georgia.

The official swearing in ceremony was held in Governor Kemp’s office at the State Capitol on February 27, 2024. The State Workforce Development Board (SWDB) is appointed by the Governor and is tasked with administering Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds across the state and overseeing the Governor’s state workforce development initiatives. Their guidance is essential to sustaining Georgia’s competitive advantage nationwide in terms of workforce. The SWDB is comprised of business owners, members of the Georgia General Assembly, statewide agency heads, local elected officials, and representatives from other workforce groups.

Ken Warnock is the CEO of the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce and the Emanuel County Development Authority. Warnock is presently serving as Chairman of the East Georgia Regional Airport Authority and is a charter board member of the Georgia Aviation Authority.
