Mr. Walter Lamb Cannady, 53, of Swainsboro, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, at his residence. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 7, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating. Interment followed in Swainsboro City Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday, October 7, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Faircloth, Marc Collins, Ronald Barwick, Ricky Ely, Dustin Watkins, Glen Watkins, Ty Fagler and Brent Fails. Honorary pallbearers were the Swainsboro Raceway family and the Faircloth Forestry family.

Walter was born January 3, 1970, in Savannah, to the late Jack Walling Cannady and Becky Lamb Cannady. He was a DEA graduate. Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was employed by Faircloth Forest Products in Swainsboro for many years, which was Walter’s second family. Mr. Cannady is preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Cannady is survived by his daughter, Tayler (Bubba) Rountree of Twin City; son, Pudge (Amanda) Cannady of Statesboro; grandchildren, Kace Rountree, Kinzee Rountree and Hudson Cannady; sister, Dawn (Steve) Williams of Swainsboro; nephews, Wes (Brandie) Scarboro and Kyle (Brittany) Williams, both of Swainsboro; fur baby, Izzy; and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
