Veronica “Roni” Elizabeth LaCue, age 60, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, January 6, at 2 p.m. at Emanuel County Institute with Apostle Donald Johnson officiating and Pastor George Coleman presiding. Interment followed in Rountree Grove Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
Veronica was born November 6, 1963, in Bronx, NY, to the late Herbert Kimbrough and Annie Willie Rountree. She graduated from Emanuel County Institute in 1981. Veronica will be remembered as being the best dancer in the family, although her sister Teresa always debated with her about that because she thinks she was the best. Mrs. LaCue is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Debra Ann Rountree; and brother, Hyland James Kareem Rountree.
Mrs. LaCue will be remembered by her loving, devoted husband, Kennedy LaCue; daughter, Kenyatta LaCue; son, Kenyale Herbert (Jayda) LaCue; sister, Teresa (Isaac) Diane Kimbrough; grandsons, Kyrie and Kingston; special nieces, Yolanda and Nikia; nephews, Saxon, Roderick, Zephaniah and Quan; uncle, George Coleman; aunts, Cinda, Jackie, Shirley, Robin and Darlene; great-nieces, Tre’Andrea and Zoria; and great-nephews, Christon, Xzavier and Lamonte.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
