Two sentenced in Superior Court

The following occurred during the Emanuel County Superior Court April 2023 term:

Walter Figueroa, negotiated a guilty plea on one count felony fleeing and eluding. He was fined $5,000 with five years to serve.; and one count possession of firearm by FOA with five years to serve. The defendant is sentenced for a total of five years and is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian.

Jessica Hitchcock, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count theft by shoplifting. She was fined $1,000 with 10 years, two years to serve, bal. prob.; and one count possession of meth with three years, two years to serve, bal. prob. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 10 years, with the first two years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of two years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the Defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).
