A cool breeze blows, Friday night lights, pumpkins on porches, fall is definitely in the air. It means it’s time to start making those Christmas lists and Thanksgiving menus. For Twin City it means prepping for another Cotton Blossom Festival on November 7.
Over the last six years the Cotton Blossom Festival has become a growing tradition. Arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, classic cars, music; everything you need to launch into the holiday season.
This year we will kick off the festival with our second Blossom Boogie on October 24 at 6 p.m. at the Twin City Welcome Center. Sweet Georgia Heating & Air will present The Ripleys. This band offers a unique sound that will have you ready to boogie the night away. Bring your kids, bring your chairs, bring a smile, and we will provide the good time.
Of course, the fun is not just limited to the street dance. The day of the festival will be filled with the smell of grills and sweet treats that will give even the busiest person a reason to stop and enjoy the day. Do you like BBQ? Chicken Wings? Snow Cones? How about Caribbean food? Whatever you like, your taste buds will not leave disappointed. Grab a treat and enjoy the many local acts that will fill the stage in Twin City. The TCE Music Club will be bringing their award-winning kids for a community performance. Gospel, classic rock, country, there will be a great mix of melodies to enjoy all day. Bring your Christmas shopping list and stroll through our numerous vendors. There will be all sorts of unique local goods, handmade crafts, woodwork, baked goods, local boutique finds, all waiting to be discovered. Also, if you like chrome and slick paint jobs you will definitely want to add the car show to your must-do list.
One of our most popular and requested attractions is the Georgia Southern University Wildlife Center. They will be bringing some of their friends. Some of them slither, some of them crawl, while others prefer to fly and each one is sure to bring excitement to all those animal-loving little ones. While you are walking around, be sure to stop by and see our friends from Emanuel Medical Center. They will be conducting a “teddy bear clinic” where kids can pretend to be doctors and help those sick teddies feel better.
Mayor Matt Donaldson, the festival committee, and the City of Twin City, invite everyone to a day full of fun, food, and festivities at the 6th Annual Cotton Blossom Festival on November 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come enjoy live music, delicious eats, unique vendors, and plenty of small-town charm. As always, we want to celebrate community, tradition, and togetherness. Come join us!
