When I speak of the Power of Prayer, there are many variables involved. I learned about Prayer from my parents as a child. Even before understanding the process of prayer, I was taught to pray.
Yes, we prayed before every meal, we prayed before bedtime and when we were awakened in the morning.
Prayer is an acknowledgement that there is a power greater than yourself. It also acknowledges that you are helpless without that power. Prayer is also used to honor the higher power by showing gratitude.
Now when we prayed, we acknowledged God as the supreme, highest power. We also acknowledged that he sent his Son, Jesus to make atonement for us to be restored back to him. Through his Son Jesus is given all power and authority in heaven and in earth. So, prayer is most powerful when prayed in the name of Jesus.
So, to make it simple, Jesus said in Mark 11:24, “Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.” So, through prayer when you believe you receive. There is nothing more powerful than prayer, when prayed to God in the name of Jesus. Check this out. In Acts 16:24, Paul and Silas prayed while in prison. God sent an earthquake which opened the prison doors and closed every prisoner's handcuff. That is the power of prayer. It's given to us to connect with God so use it daily.
