Right now, we are living in a time when we have to make, or we are going to make difficult decisions. What it means is that things are not going to be comfortable for us and neither is it going to be popular. Even when it seems impossible, but with God all things are possible. (Luke 28:27). I was reading in John 4:4 where Jesus “must needs go through Samaria.“
Just note that the Jews would take the long unnecessary route to keep from going through Samaria. You know the Jews were God's people, the religious folk, the church going folk. They were the ones who paid their tithes and gave good offerings. Their section was the best. Well now here comes Jesus, the Son of God. Pure Jew by nature. God sent his own Son to his own people.
Now the Samaritans were considered, half breeds, illegitimate by the Jews. They were mixed with the Assyrians because Assyria had captured the Northern Kingdom of the Jews. Samaritans were a mixed race. They really were considered today half brothers and sisters to the Jews.
Jesus came to stop the racism. You know, like the Pharisee Religious Sect. Taking the long route, making sure you don't go through certain communities. You know if you don't see it then you don't have to deal with it, yet you know it is there.
When Jesus met the Woman of Samaria at the well, she reminded him that the Jews and Samaritans have no dealings. That is why Jesus had a need to go through Samaria. To stop the prejudice. To stop the racism. Both races were guilty. One could not blame the other. Jesus stopped it. So why are the church folk still practicing it today. The Lord had to stop Peter's prejudices (Acts chapter 10).
This is one thing impossible with man that is possible if you are a child of God. Children of God obeys the voice of God which is his Word. Just know that Jesus made a very hard choice, yet he said, "not my will but thy will be done”. So, the same Jesus that stopped the prejudices went to the cross and died for us so that we don't have to take the long way around.
