The following occurred during the Emanuel County Superior Court October 2025 term:
Donald Aaron Potter, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty plea on one count theft by shoplifting. He was fined $50 with 10 years - serve 5 yrs, 5 yrs prob; one count theft by taking with 10 years - serve 5 yrs, 5 yrs prob to run concurrent with count one; one count burglary 2nd degree with 10 years - serve 5 yrs, 5 yrs prob to run concurrent with count one and two. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 10 years, with the first 5 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 5 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).
Tommie Sheffield, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty plea on one count aggravated stalking. He was fined $50 with 10 years prob, enter and complete redirection; one count criminal damage to property 2nd degree with 5 years probation to run concurrent with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 15 years to be served on probation. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).
Tiffany Copeland, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty plea on one count conspiracy to commit a felony. Orlando Lopez Reyes, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count burglary 1st degree. He was fined $50 with 20 years prob., RSAT ITF susp; one count criminal damage to property 2nd degree with 5 years probation to run concurrent with count one; one count criminal damage to property 2nd degree with 5 years probation to run concurrent with count one and two; one count obstruction (felony) with 10 years probation to run concurrent with counts one - three; one count criminal trespass with 12 months probation to run concurrent with counts one – four; one count obstruction with 12 months probation to run concurrent with counts one – five; one count obstruction with 12 months to run concurrent with counts one – six. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 20 years to be served on probation. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).
Julius Montez Dubose, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty plea on one count possession of meth with 15 years, serve 846 days at EmCo Jail, bal. prob; one count possession of drug related objects with 12 months probation to run concurrent with count one; one count suspended license with $1,000 fine and 12 months probation to run concurrent with count one and two. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 15 years, with the first 846 days to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 8/13/23 – 12/16/25. Upon service of 846 days, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. Quantez Rashavius Gillis negotiated a guilty plea on one count fleeing and eluding with 5 years to serve; one count reckless driving with 12 months probation to run concurrent with count one and consecutive with count one; one count DUI with $300 fine and 12 months probation to run concurrent with count one and two and consecutive with count one; driving while license suspended with 12 months probation to run concurrent with counts 1-3 and consecutive with count one; open container with 12 months probation to run concurrent with counts one – four and consecutive with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 6 years, with the first 5 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian.
