Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Teena C. Mauldin, 80, of McDonough on Friday, November 27 at Lynn Haven Nursing Home in Gray. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, December 1 at 2 PM at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors, Peebles Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Unkles officiating. The family received friends from 1 PM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mount of Olives Cemetery in Cottonwood, AL on Wednesday, December 2 at 2 PM. CDC social distancing guidelines were observed and masks were encouraged for your safety and the health and well-being of others.
Pallbearers were Juston Sirmans, Brandon Sirmans, Frank Brock, Andrew Eaton, Judd Hooks, and Elison Key.
Born in Willacoochee, Teena was the daughter of the late Lige A. and Eloise Olive Corbitt. During her years in Swainsboro, Teena worked with J. A. Youngblood for 16 years, followed by WXRS Radio Station. Her hobbies included crocheting and making doll furniture. Teena was the organist at Calvary United Methodist Church, and sang at many weddings and funerals. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, William Leonard Mauldin; and a brother, Robert Joe Corbitt.
Survivors include, daughter, Monica M. Sirmans (Bill) of Sparta; son, John A. “Al” Mauldin (Christi) of Flovilla; sisters, Sylvia Hooks of Swainsboro and Theresa Lovein of Nashville, GA; brother, Lige Corbitt, III of Dublin; grandchildren, Juston Sirmans (Annie), Brandon Sirmans, Allison Mauldin Eaton (Andrew), and Taylor Brock (Frank), nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Egleston Hospital, 1405 Clifton Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30322.
