Taylor to speak at St. Paul - Noah’s Ark AME Church Black History and Founders Celebration

On Sunday, February 11, at 11 a.m. the congregation will celebrate both their black history and the African Methodist Church founders with a special guest speaker, Dorna Jenkins Taylor. Dorna is the daughter of Donald and Erma Jenkins, the granddaughter of Elder T.R. and Mary Wakefield of Plains, Ga. and the great-granddaughter of Floyd and Lillie Mae Jen-kins of the Summertown.

Dorna Jenkins Taylor is a graduate of the University of Georgia. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and has been a practicing attorney for over 25 years. Dorna has represented many notable sports and entertainment figures including NBA Hall of Famer Julius “Dr J” Erving, Philadelphia Eagle Nakobe Dean, three-time Tony award winning director Kenny Leon, Grammy award winning gospel artist Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Stellar Award-winning gospel artist William Murphy, and Emmy award winning broadcaster Maria Taylor. Dorna is also a platinum and gold record certified producer and songwriter, having worked with many well-known music artists such as Keith Sweat, T-Boz, LSG, and Dave Hollister. In 2013, Dorna won an Emmy Award for her work on the NBATv Documentary “The Doctor” about the life of Julius Erving. Over her career, Dorna has negotiated deals and endorsements for her clients totaling well over $25 Million dollars. With her boutique sports and entertainment firm Taylor & Associates, Dorna also specializes in trademarks, copyrights, brand representation and family trusts. Dorna aims to use her considerable background in the sports and music industries to bring care and compassion back to the world of professional sports branding and artist representation. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and lives in Atlanta with her two teenaged children, Ashlee and William IV.
