The Veterans at the Library held their weekly meeting at the Franklin Memorial Library Monday morning, June 15, at 9 a.m. With Chair Johnny Tapley presiding, we had 36 in attendance. Beta Sigma Phi provided the outstanding breakfast for us this morning consisting of sausage biscuits, jelly, fresh cut up fruit, and all the trimmings. Shari Watt provided the orange juice, grape juice, cranberry juice, apple juice, and coffee. The food was outstanding and we want to thank the Beta Sigma Phi for doing this for the Veterans. Chair Johnny talked to us about the Emanuel County Tax evaluations and that we need to make our voices heard. Chair Johnny also talked about the Veterans Wall that will soon be erected at the Veterans and First Responders Memorial Park. The nearly 100 that were on the old floor around the flagpole will be placed on the new Veterans Wall at no cost to the original purchasers. Prices for the new granite bricks on the Veterans Wall is being worked out and will soon be announced.
