The Swainsboro Rotary club met at the Rustic Grill for the noon meeting on June 26, 2023. This was the annual installation meeting for the new president and directors. Outgoing President Kenneth Willoughby was presented the plaque for his term during the 2022-2023 year. He presented the incoming President, Tanya Lane, the gavel for her new term. He also presented Cason Devane the Rotarian of the year award. This is given to the Rotary member that goes above and beyond to fulfill the responsibilities of his membership. Also, during this meeting, perfect attendance awards were given to Ken Warnock, Mitch Fagler and John Allen Bailey. The new slate of officers are: Tanya Lane, President: Kenneth Willoughby, past president: John Allen Bailey, secretary: Wade Johnson, treasurer, Zach Proctor, president elect and Richard McNeely, Sergeant at Arms. The directors for the 2023-2024 year are Patti Hendley, public relations: Cason Devane, District conference: Carmen Tanner, family of Rotary. The club also welcomed Lynn Brinson as the newest member. The club will resume meeting on July 17, 2023.
