On Monday, October 25, Swainsboro Junior Council conducted its first meeting. All members were present as well as two mentors. Brad and Darby Gates.
The following items were listed and discussed on the night’s agenda:
Favorite Burger Place – Council discussed favorite burger places as an ice breaker subject. Council will make tentative plans to split up and go to various burger establishments for further discussion and opinions to be made.
Reason for Junior Council - Why was the Junior Council founded, and what is now going on in Swainsboro's City Leadership?
Junior council members addressed their thoughts on community events like the Fall Festival and the Downtown Open House being canceled, and what that means for local morale.
Other discussion included the next mayoral election as well as the election of new members of Swainsboro City Council.
In other news
Each junior council member was given homework to research.
