Swainsboro High School kicked off Red Ribbon Week with a message encouraging ninth- and tenth-grade students to make positive choices and recognize their potential. Keynote speaker Stacey Grant challenged students to make a difference, choose healthy paths instead of drugs, and work toward becoming the best versions of themselves.
Grant is an educator, youth advocate, and founder of Our Girls Rock Too!, Inc., a nonprofit that supports young people through mentorship and leadership programs. In her presentation, Grant highlighted the importance of recognizing their potential and understanding how everyday choices can shape their futures. She also challenged students to create their own slogans promoting vaping prevention.
The challenge sparked immediate enthusiasm, as several students began developing their slogans before the presentation even ended. Their excitement reflected the heart of Red Ribbon Week: empowering young people to make healthy choices and inspire those around them to do the same.
All week, students joined in activities that encouraged positive choices and a drug-free lifestyle. They wrote personal pledges on puzzle pieces for a school display, shared their goals on a Goals & Dreams Heart Wall, and took part in themed days that highlighted the value of making healthy decisions.
Through these activities and positive messages, Swainsboro High School continues to encourage students to see their potential, make a difference, and choose a drug-free future.
