The Swainsboro Exchange Club welcomed two distinguished guests at its meeting on January 27, as club member Larry Calhoun introduced Jessica Martinez-Ramos and Linda Hairr, both recently honored by Southeastern Technical College.
Martinez-Ramos has been selected as Southeastern Technical College’s 2026 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) Student. A licensed practical nurse, she is currently pursuing her Associate of Science in Nursing through the Bridge Pathway program. Nominated by Ginny Ennis, Martinez-Ramos shared how her experiences at STC expanded her worldview through educational and cultural opportunities, helping prepare her for today’s workforce. She will represent STC at the regional GOAL competition in February, with the state finals scheduled for April in Atlanta.
Also recognized was Cosmetology Instructor Linda Hairr, who has been named the recipient of the Rick Perkins/Instructor of the Year Award. Hairr emphasized that technical education changes lives and strengthens Georgia’s workforce, saying she is proud to play a role in shaping students’ futures and supporting the state’s economic growth.
Both honorees were congratulated by club members for their achievements and for representing Southeastern Technical College with distinction.
