The following took place in the October 2021, November 2021 and January 2022 terms of Emanuel County Superior Court:

October 2021

Billy Jack Brantley was found guilty by Emanuel County Superior Court Jury on two counts forgery in the first degree. He was fined $1,000 and sentenced to 15 years probation, provided that the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the court as part of this sentence.

November 2021

Darrien James Worthen, a repeat offender, submitted a non-negotiated plea of guilty on one count possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, one count possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, one count possession of firearm by convicted felon, one count possession of marijuana (misd) and one count obstruction (misd). He was fined $1,500 and sentenced to 35 years with the first 10 years to be served in confinement and the remainder on probation, provided that the defendant shall comply with Conditions of Probation as imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

January 2022

Phillipe Aaron Riner negotiated a plea of guilty (Alford) on one count aggravated stalking. He was fined $50 and sentenced to 10 years probation . The court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Jeffery Jerome Washington, a repeat offender, submitted a non-negotiated plea of guilty on one count sale of cocaine. He was fined $50 and sentenced to 20 years with the first three to be served in confinement and the remainder on probation. The defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. The court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).

Randy Jerome Whipple, a repeat offender, negotiated a plea of guilty on one count fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, two counts aggravated assault reduced to criminal damage to property (first degree), one count possession of cocaine, one count driving under the influence, one count suspended license, two counts hit and run, one count reckless driving, one count operation of unregistered vehicle, one count brake light violation and one count seat belt violation. He was fined and sentenced to 20 years with the first 8 years to be served in confinement and the remainder on probation, provided that the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the Defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).
