Sunrays Optical, located at 414 South Main Street, Swainsboro, held a ribbon cutting and grand opening on Friday, January 3 at 2 p.m. Chamber President Ken Warnock was on hand to welcome owner, Brock Hooks to our community. Guests were served finger foods, hot chocolate and more.

“I want to thank the city of Swainsboro’s Chamber of Commerce and the community for supporting Sunrays Optical. As a young kid, I dreamed of owning my own business one day. I have lived in Swainsboro my entire life and I love to see it grow little by little. Many of my colleagues have moved out of town to start their careers but I saw a need to help our community. After 4 years of college and working under great bosses, my dream has finally come true. After many hours of consideration, I wanted to start a business to help Swainsboro grow as well as take care of our wonderful community,” said Hooks. “Sunrays Optical offers a one hour service on prescription glasses that are made in house. We have a wide variety of frames including our brand Sunrays, Cazal, Costa, Maui Jim, and Rayban. Our goal is to satisfy every patient with awesome customer service and a comfortable fit.”
