Congratulations to the Swainsboro Primary School Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition winners. These students wrote some very creative stories to win this competition. The Young
Georgia Authors writing competition is unlike many other writing competitions because students
are not given a specific prompt, they are allowed to use their creativity and imagination. The
submissions were judged on expression of ideas, language usage and unique perspective and voice.
The first place winners in each grade will advance to the district level to be judged again to
determine district winners. SPS students to make placement in the competition are as follows:
Second Grade – First place, Emerson (Emmie) Averett; Second place, Brandtley (Brandt) Wheeler; and Third place, Lyndon Singletary
First Grade – First place, Avery Frye; Second place, De’Kiya Booker; and Third place, Dessie Singletary
Kindergarten – First place, Tasia Farrow; Second place, Thorne Jersey; and Third place, Johanna Shepard
