SPS students create Valentine Potato Heads to celebrate their good behavior

On February 3, Swainsboro Elementary School students participated in the monthly PBIS rewards day. Students who maintained good behavior throughout the month got to choose a special activity as their reward. One of the choices was to be in a cooking class sponsored by Family Connection. The theme for the class was "Valentine Potato Heads". The students were challenged to use fresh fruits and vegetables to create a potato head character with a Valentine theme.

The class of 25 students were assisted by volunteers who are part of the Emanuel County Family Connection Collaborative. The students were taught safe knife skills and nutrition education during the class. The "potato characters" were judged and the top five are pictured here.
