May 28

Officer was dispatched to the area of Lambs Bridge Rd. in reference to a subject claiming he was being followed. Prior to the incident, officers were briefed on a subject’s recent paranoia, erratic behavior, vehicle description and being armed with an AK47 style pistol. During dispatch, officers and deputy were informed that the subject was on Lambs Bridge Rd. and called 911 stating he was being followed and possibly blocked in by people who were trying to kill him. 911 advised officers to use precaution. Officer made contact with offender near Tiger Trl. and drew his firearm for protection when offender pulled beside him. Offender claimed that an elderly male in a truck to his rear was following him and officer instructed offender to pull off the road and offender parked behind officer’s patrol unit. Officers approached offender’s vehicle and attempted to communicate with him and he was extremely erratic and rapidly moving around. Offender was instructed to put his hands up and once he complied, deputy observed the AK47 in the vehicle, reached over offender, and removed the weapon. Offender was instructed to exit the vehicle and was secured by deputy and transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to a theft by shoplifting. Complainant had offender detained in the Loss Prevention Office. C/p stated he observed offender conceal several food items underneath his clothing and failed to pay for them and proceeded to the last point of sale. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer responded to Lucky St. in reference to a possible fight involving firearms. 911 stated they heard people in the background saying, “don’t shoot”. Officer observed multiple people standing in the roadway on Lucky St. Once he got closer, a male subject ran away from the scene with a bulge sticking out of the front of his hoodie and his hands clutched in the front of his pants under his hoodie. Officer ordered offender to stop multiple times and he continued to flee. Offender continued to flee to Lee St. and layed down in the road. Officer placed offender in handcuffs and began his investigation. While enroute to EmCo Jail, offender stated that some boys went to his house threatening to shoot his house up and asked what else was he supposed to do. While at the jail, officers were dispatched to the same area again in reference to somebody fighting. Officers didn’t notice anybody fighting and went back to the location offender ran and located a firearm.

Officers responded to the area of Lucky St. in reference to large groups of juveniles attempting to fight and they were armed with guns. Officers did not see any groups in the area but remained in the area with negative contact.

Officer responded to W. Main St. and met with complainant in reference to found property. C/p handed officer two purses that had misc books and papers inside them. A cellphone was also recovered.

Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to a damaged vehicle. Complainant reported damage to the left front door which was not consistent with damage incurred in a parking area. Officer reviewed video footage and nothing was witnessed that would cause that type of damage. C/p stated the damage was not present before she left her residence and she had only been to the car wash and WalMart.

Officer ran the tag on a vehicle to find it had no insurance and suspended registration, at which time he made a traffic stop. Offender was not able to provide proof of insurance or registration, so she was cited, and the vehicle was towed.

Officer responded to Lincoln St. in reference to a dispute. Complainant stated his wife was drunk and they got into an argument, and she hit him and he walked outside and she locked him out of house. C/p stated he just wanted to get his belongings and leave but she would not let him in the house. C/p was very intoxicated. Officer spoke with the wife who was intoxicated and stated c/p hit her. C/p’s wife’s lip had a blood blister. Both parties were highly intoxicated so officers could not determine a primary progressor. C/p left the residence with his daughter.

May 29

Officer was dispatched to Center St. in reference to a female inside tearing up c/p’s house. Another officer notified officer on dispatch that if it was a known female subject, she had an active criminal trespass against her for that address. Officers arrived and that known female was talking to officers loudly and stated c/p pushed her while she was holding her child. She was told to give the child to a lady beside her that she knows, and she was handcuffed due to her criminal trespass notice. Offender became irate and unable to calm her down and she was placed in the rear of the patrol unit and kept screaming and beating the window. Officer spoke with c/p who stated offender went to his house and started throwing things and denied pushing offender. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail where she screamed the whole way and continued to scream and show out with the ail staff.

Officer was dispatched N. Racetrack St. in reference to a dispute. Complainant stated offender walked off with his and c/p’s daughter’s child, then brought it back. C/p stated her daughter did not want offender taking the child off again and he bowed up at her with his fist like he was going to hit her.

Officer responded to Sunset Inn in reference to a male subject harassing hotel staff and would not leave. Complainant stated the male subject was a customer about three weeks ago and has been going back and staying with other guests. C/p stated they told him to leave and he started taunting them and cussing at staff. C/p stated that as offender was leaving, he threw a glass bottle that busted in the parking lot.

May 30

Officer was dispatched to Gumlog Rd. in reference to an altercation. Complainant stated her boyfriend went to her residence to take her cellphone back that he had and when he entered the residence, he asked for her to unlock her phone and she refused, so he hit her in the mouth and head. C/p stated she started hollering and her mother went in the living room and offender left. C/p had bleeding around her mouth and head.

May 31

Officer was notified about a vehicle that had been parked on the shoulder of the road on N. Coleman St. for several weeks. Officer ran the tag to find the vehicle had no insurance or registration and was unable to make contact with the owner. Officer then notified the housing authority to find that the owner no longer resided there so the vehicle was towed.

Officer met with complainant at SPD in reference to someone using his debit card. Complainant stated a female went to his house and helped him with his EBT card and allegedly took photos of it and it has been used twice since then.

Officer responded to Washington Ave. in reference to complainant advising someone pulled a gun on her juvenile son while at the park on King Cir. Officer spoke with the juvenile who stated he didn’t know the person that pulled the gun on him and doesn’t know why a gun was pulled on him.

Officer responded to WalMart in reference to a report of harassing communications. Complainant stated his ex-girlfriend’s son and his wife had been repeatedly calling and texting him saying that he owed them $350. C/p stated he told them he does not owe t hem any money and asked them to stop calling and texting him and they called and texted his phone five times within two and a half hours. Contact was made with offenders and they were informed not to notify complainant anymore.

Officer responded to the area of New St. for shots fired. Officer was on McLeod Bridge Rd. when he noticed three males running off Hopkins St. Officer advised another officer that a witness stated he saw three males running past his house going down Hopkins St., so officer pulled in an open lot off of McLeod Bridge Rd. to make contact with the male subjects. Once the officer turned on his blue lights, two of the subjects stopped and walked to his unit. Officer yelled several times for the third subject to stop and he looked back, grabbed the front of his hoodie and ran.

Officer responded to Project St. in reference to someone taking something off of a vehicle. Complainant stated someone took the center caps off the driver side of her vehicle.

June 1

Officer observed a vehicle with a head light out, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer approached the vehicle and asked the driver for his license and he attempted to provide his mother’s license. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle and was advised he had an active warrant through ECSO. The passenger was asked for his name and DOB and stated he had a permit to drive but was not able to provide it. He kept giving a name but was spelling the last name wrong. Passenger was identified and gave a fake name and DOB again. He was placed under arrest and both were transported to EmCo Jail. Once at the jail, the passenger had a handgun tucked tightly to his inner thigh. The vehicle had expired registration.
